The Heritage Property Act states that “…no person shall destroy, alter, restore, repair, disturb, transport, add to, change or move, in whole or in part, real property designated pursuant to this Part of remove any fixtures from such property…without the written consent of the minister.”
As a result, a Provincial Heritage Property Alteration Application must be completed and approved prior to any alterations to a Provincial Heritage Property.
Contact the Heritage Conservation Branch for assistance in preparing an application to alter a Provincial Heritage Property.
This application may only be completed by owners or representatives of a Provincial Heritage Property within Saskatchewan. Lessees of a property may submit with permission from the owners.
How to Apply
To request the consent of the minister, please complete the Provincial Heritage Property Alteration Application.
Applications must include:
- The property’s name and address
- Applicant contact information
- Existing condition documentation
- Proposed alterations documentation
